satn @ Mary Moore Searight Park

South Austin Trail Network at Mary Moore Searight Park has way more land and elevation than you are probably expecting, and is a very under-utilized resources in Austin. Situated along the east end of Slaughter Creek, there is dense shade protecting miles of multi-use single track and an Equestiran Loop trail which has been recently revamped, and a portion of the creek is dammed up and always full of water. There is an awesome overlook on the southern bank which is a choice spot to catch an evening sunset; however, this section of trail also comes with legitimate exposure, and some of the G-outs and steep rolls will be more enjoyable for an intermediate rider. There is plenty of parking here, and these trails do link up with the rest of South Austin Trail Network making it possible to include Mary Moore as part of a large loop ride.

In July of 2022, Austin Ridge Riders secured grant money and a C.A.P.P. application approval to expand mountain biking trails within the park.
