There are many places in this world where you can ride wet trails, but Central Texas is not one of them. Due to high clay content in the soil, most of our trails do not handle water very well and should be avoided. Clay soils stick to tire tread and the ruts become a maintanance issue. Over time, the trail can be eroded to the point of being nothing but rock, so it is important to be respectful and avoid riding when trails are muddy. The more time builders spend fixing trail, the less time we have to create new trail.

While there are many groups dedicated to trail conditions in central Texas, the best solution is Trailforks, since it is free to use and the reporting can be embedded in multiple websites putting everyone on the same page.
