Marty Dolan and Chris Smith - Bluegroove Revival - Walnut Creek Pump track

The Bluegroove Revival, Sansom Park Enduro, and Crank N Drank on new trail were the big items from October. The holiday season is right around the corner, so I am going to be a little less focused on the content until 2023. I am going to take a little time to update the website a bit - particulary the font to make it more readable.

Bluegroove Revival

The highlight from October was undoubtedly the Bluegroove Revival at the Walnut Creek Pump Track. Hippie Josh poured a lot of energy into this event and it was tons of fun. The turnout and talent were huge. Mark and Omar won the Best trick competition with their backflips. Trevor and Jake won the high jump competition. The pump track is very well loved at the moment and the scene is large. Sunday morning continues to be the place to be. If you are an early riser you can get out early - around 7 am - and learn what goes into prepping and maintaining dirt jumps. These are living, breathing features and they require constant respect and care to continue providing us with fun.

Jake Extreme - High Jump Competition

I did not even bring my bike. I ride enough so I wanted to help Hippie get the word out and took tons of photos and live streamed the Best Trick and High Jump competitions. You can rewatch those below.

Texas Enduro Cup Race 2

Chute Show (not the chute though)

Sansom Park in Fort Worth was not what I was expecting. It is way steeper than I anticipated and everything was so dry and loose. I approached this with a mindset of “keep it rubber side down” and I am thankful I did.

The climbing was exhausting as well, and it got pretty muggy on Saturday, so I was never going to be very fast anyway.

The team had a great time and you can read the race recap here.

The trails here are maintained by FWMBA and you can donate directly to them here.

Crank N Drank

We did two routes in October that included some new trail! We also properly entered Night Ride season! The northeast passage makes it possible to do a loop from ATX Bikes, all the way out to Mary Moore and back via the new Boggy Creek corridor.

November promises to be a busy month. There will be the Family Funduro race, Cranksgiving, Dragonslayer, and a few volunteer opportunities with Austin Ridge Riders. You can find out what is happening by taking a look at the upcoming events page.
