Meeting location: 9909 FM 1826
From this address turn onto road leading to the Mary Gay Maxwell Tract. AKA Maxwell Slaughter Creek Trail.
Arrival Time: THE GATE WILL OPEN AT 8:30 am & CLOSE AT 9:00 am so volunteers can enter. The gate will reopen at 11:30 am so volunteers can leave. The gate can also be opened if anyone has an emergency.
As you know, a lot of tree branches are down due to the ice storm; the rain will also allow for dirt work.
IF YOU HAVE A HANDSAW, please bring it. Particularly a pole saw.
PLEASE BRING AND WEAR A HELMET AND EYE PROTECTION while working. There is a risk of falling branches — be aware of what other trail volunteers are doing. A bike helmet or hard hat works.
Unfortunately, City of Austin has not authorized volunteers to use chainsaws or power tools of any type. So we will use handsaws and have some available for loan.
Austin Ridge Riders is YOUR local non-profit Mountain Bike Club that builds and maintains the trails we all enjoy. Consider becoming a member to support our work!
We will be providing tools and some gloves (but bring your own gloves if you have them).
If you are a TMBRA racer, this is Pay Dirt eligible.
Please sign our waiver today!
